Throughout the last month of changing weather the children at GASC have engaged in an activity known as the Garneau Flood. Below is some documentation of this play and some children's testimonials about the play.

A few children discussed with me how they enjoyed creating a larger puddle, as this allowed them to explore different avenues of play. These included floating toys in the water, splashing in the water, and attempting to transport the water to different places.

This play helped showcase the groups communication skills, as some children took on a leadership role in play. This was something the children enjoyed, as it allowed them the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about their play. Children would frequently trade responsibilities and attempt different objectives depending on who was leading play that day.

The children accomplished their two most prominent goals. Crushing the ice and moving the water under the swings. The latter goal was decided due to some critical thinking by the children, as they felt that this path would provide the least resistance.

Thank you for reading about the children's Garneau Flood Journey. We look forward to seeing everyone over spring break, plans can be found on the blog. Have a great day!
